The small hours

No more my little song comes back;
And now of nights I lay
My head on down, to watch the black
And wait the unfailing grey.

Oh, sad are Winter nights, and slow;
And sad's as song that's dumb;
And sad it is to lie and know
Another dawn will come.

Poem by Dorothy Parker.
Photos from my garden, Oct 2013.

  2. Thank you. Dorothy Parker is my favourite poet. And in the right light even dead foliage can look nice ^_^

  6. Debs, what beautiful words and poetry to match your poignant photos. They complement each other.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I do appreciate each and every one and will do my best to reply. I do apologise for the comment moderation I've been forced to put into place thanks to Mr Dark's spamming. It was not so much the spamming that bothered me - it was his appalling grammar.
